ARTIST STATEMENT:

Media art design 2, final project, I’ve made an interactive application that is  more of an informative type. I decided to make this type of application, in order to give out information to people about the six animals that are going through extinction which is the Sumatran Tiger, Javan Rhinoceros, Cross River Gorilla, Borneo Pygmy Elephant, Giant Panda and the Polar Bear. These animals only exists in one or two countries and we should know about their extinction in order to save them.

PROCESS:

For the design of the the other pages, I used Adobe Illustrator CS5 to create them as well.

As there are 6 animals , i am going to do 6 pages as well.

For this project, I am going to use the Animal Extinction Design from Assignment 1.

For this interactive application, I am going to make it more like an informative kind of application.

I am going to give information to people about the location of the animal, the amount of them left and

 also the reason why the animal is going through extinction.

Final Project (40%)

Brief:

This is an individual project.

Based on Assignment 01 and 02, students are required to develop an interactive application.

The interactive application MUST have minumum of four pages.

(main menu, 2 subsections and a concept page)

Students should apply and demonstrate their knowledge in what they have learn

through out their beta level (Media Art Design classes)

Please take note that your interactive application should carry expressive and provocative visual.

Objective:

-          To demonstrate an understanding of visual communication

-          To practice effective visual layout design and create functional graphic user interface

-          To apply creative association of technology, technique, tools and applications to produce digital media artwork practically.

Evaluation criteria:

-          Overall interactive application concept: 15%

-          Creativity, idea development and sketches of ideas: 20%

-          Concept Artworks: 5%

Submission Format:

01 One A4 printed concept board mounted on foam board (Your name, id, artwork description printed at the back).

02 A4 Sketches (landscape format): Please compile all your assignments sketches and idea developments (01, 02 + final project)

03 CDROM:

-          An Interactive application

-          Digital copy of ALL working files for all assignments and project.

-          Digital Research documentation for ALL assingments and project.

-          Your Name, id, artwork description + blog links (MS word)
